About Artamisha Farnsworth
Welcome! As a Suzuki-trained harpist and dedicated instructor, I’ve been immersed in the world of harp music since the age of eight. My harp journey began under the guidance of Suzuki harp teacher Kimberly Dunford. Throughout my formative years, I actively participated in esteemed competitions, including:
American Harp Society National Competition
Young Artist’s Harp Competition
Utah Sterling Scholar Music Competition
At sixteen, I had the honor of being accepted into the 4th International Harp Academy HarpMasters Program in Bern, Switzerland. There, I studied with Milda Agazarian and performed in the HarpMaster Gala Concert, enriching my global musical perspective.
Following high school, I pursued a Harp Performance degree at Brigham Young University, studying under Dr. Nicole Brady, further honing my craft and deepening my passion for the harp.
Teaching Philosophy
As a certified Suzuki Method instructor, I believe in nurturing musical talent through:
Listening: Cultivating a keen ear for music.
Encouragement: Fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
Repetition: Building proficiency through consistent practice.
Performance Opportunities: Providing platforms to showcase progress.
This approach ensures that students not only develop technical skills but also a deep appreciation for the art of music.
